In fact, if you’re the sort of person who tends to procrastinate, then this app is especially useful. Let’s take a look at how.
- 30/30 is a pretty nifty app for several reasons. To begin with, the first thing you’ll noticed when you run it is how simple it looks. The home screen is basically just a clock showing the time you have to complete a given set of tasks with the tasks listed below it. It’s clean, and it’s efficient – exactly what you’d expect from a productivity app. The first thing about the app is that it walks you through everything you need to do. TO begin, just slid apart to add crate new tasks.
- Once you’ve set up your tasks, you’ll need to select how long you want to allot each of them. You can be as flexible as you like, but the limit seems to be an hour for a task. Once you’ve done that, it’s also a good idea to color code different tasks in different colouers in order of priority or any other parameter that works for you. This will help you keep track of tasks. If for any reason a task becomes redundant or you want to get rid of it, just slide right to delete it. There are a host of other functions as well, including two finger tapping to move a task to the top of the list, tapping the dial to pause and many others. Get used to them – these will be the lifeblood of your experience with 30/30!
- The action part of 30/30, of course, is the part after you’ve set u you tasks. Here too, the app scores with its excellent, yet non-invasive means of keeping you on track. The moment you go past your designated time limit 30/30 will send you a notification as well as let you know through a short alarm bell. You can toggle sound preferences too.
- One last thing to keep in mind is the icons on the clock dial itself. These allow you to perform a host of useful functions, such as adding or subtracting a few minutes to your allotted time for task, depending on how close you’re getting. There’s also a lock icon which locks in the time so you don’t keep extending it. The bin icon allows you to toggle between tasks quickly. Finally, the tick mark on top of the dial is your GO button – it sets the timer running. All in all, there a myriad of ways in which 30/30 helps you keep your life on track – once you get used to it, you’ll find it really useful in keeping your work and life on schedule!
